Welcome to Purdy Pictures

The website of Michael Creagh, freelance art director, copywriter and director.
My rates are very competitive (Heck, they're competitive with a window cleaner).
I'm all about marketing strategy and the science of persuasion.
Nah, bollocks.
I just like making ads and being able to point at bus shelters and TV screens and tell my kids "Daddy did that".
To which they usually reply "Meh, it's a bit lame, Dawwd."
But 'hell do they know? Not complaining when Daddy brings home the new Nikes, are you?
Ungrateful little effers.

Recent work

Some work I've done recently. Hence the title "Recent Work". Not nearly enough though. I like working. Many who know me will be surprised by that. It's good to work. Makes a man feel like a man.
Even moreso than smoking a pipe or driving with gloves.

THE CRUSH nominated for an Academy Award

Did I mention this? I hardly ever mention it. I just hate talking about it.
I made a film in 2009 called The Crush and it got nominated for an Oscar. It lost.
But only because God wanted to teach me a lesson in humility.
Screw him.

Anyways, it has led me on a stellar path to poverty because everyone thinks I must be off making films.
I'm not. I'm here. Give me work!

Art director showreel

My agency career spanned over a decade from the late Nineties (ah, those were the days - Ferraris, coke, women - oh wait, I'm confusing my life with TV again).

This reel shows a selection of spots that I conceived,
art-directed and, in many cases, wrote or co-wrote during my years with McConnells. I got to work with some great agency people, production people and had the privilege of watching some of Ireland's best directors do their stuff.
